5 Tips on how to Snack and How Snacking Makes You Gain Fat
Let’s us discuss snacking and all its glory.
Hey Everybody!!! Let me point out that I am a millennial (Age 25) I grew up on all kinds of snacks. Lets get real, 5 tips on how to snack. I still snack. I grew up in what we call a “hood” which is usually where middle to low income people live. In my hood, we had corner stores usually ran by Dominicans or Puerto Ricans (best place for snacking and a hot meal for under $10 till this day)J We also had something like a WAWA and 7Eleven. My point in pointing these out is it was very easy to get snacks not including the grocery stores. There were many opportunities to eat snacks at Parties, after school snack, after dinner snack, after homework snack even before school snacks and during school snacks lol. These snacks were usually chips, cookies, pretzels, popcorn, dye juice, sodas, candy, sunflower seeds, big bags of chips and popcorn etc and more dye juice and soda. Majority of the snacks had no nutritional value but it did have a lot of sugar and a lot of calories attached despite being so small, like did you know 2 cookies of the leading brand of cookies is 120 calories..2 COOKIES yall!!!!So imagine the other snacks.
Now we know we ate 6 or more plus chips, and pretzel , maybe a dye juiced and soda then it was whatever was for dinner and lunch and it starts back up again. This habit starts very very young so it becomes a lifestyle to eat this way. So despite knowing that there are other options, naturally the body reaches for what I listed.
So because many of the snacks listed are super high in calorie imagine years of eating that stuff all day long, now not everybody gains weight eating like that but everybody suffers in health eating like this because it does nothing for the body
Okay Now that I have touched on that let’s get on these tips!!!
Have a very limited supply of junk food in your house, instead have fresh fruits and veggies, popcorn, plain tortilla chips, maybe pure chocolate that you can take a piece of.
When it comes to cookies, grab like 1-2 in your hand and eat what you have, if you want more, first ask yourself did you eat and eat a fresh piece of fruit first, then if you do get more, you might not want as much as your would have before.
Limited corner store and convenient store trips
Decide that you will only have real 100% juice instead of dye juice at least that has less sugar and vitamin c added.
Limit soda to once a week, remember it has no nutritional value so if you really want it, and earn it.
I hope I have provided some value on snacking and how you can still snack but in better ways and why snacking can cause weight gain.
