Easy ways to use Portion Control and Tips on Eating
Heyy Everybody!!
I know you have heard the term portion control; it gets the same reaction as counting calories, “Rolls Eyes”. Pay Attention, Portion control is an easy good thing, it helps regulate how much you eat, which is great for weight loss and weight management.
I know I know you think it’s something that has to be complicated and a little bit of it is to be honest but that is in terms of snacks, see technically as much as we hate the newer chip bags or when you get a scoop of potatoes, rice or noodles instead of a bowel, it automatic portion control. You really only need a fist size of meat for dinner and lunch, but if you are frequent at the gym with weight lifting then you should double the protein to help regenerate and heal the cells broken down from the muscle tears.
When it comes to drinks, focus on low calorie drinks so it really doesn’t matter how much, and limit fruit smoothies to once a day. So I should get on how to make it easier for you starting with at home.
If you have kids, or if you just pay closer attention to the kid’s aisle at Walmart, you know about the sectional plates, these are great for portion control, it’s actually the size of your fist and the rectangle can be for veggies or whatever. The small little bowels for toddlers are the true amount for chips, ice cream, cake etc. The small 8oz cups is the true standard measurement for 1 cup (8oz) But adults usually drink a large or extra-large, which is like 3 cups.
If you are out, and you have no choice or maybe you really desire fast food, go for the kid size with fries, soda, and burger. If you find yourself at a restaurant, only eat half, save the other half for later or share it with who ever came with you. If you find yourself at a buffet…focus on meats and veggies and water first, then if you really desire a starch start with a scoop and then drink more water.
Portion control made easy, this is one of the key ways I can live my life as a foodie while being a health nut and maintaining my weight.
